Keene Open Mic

  • Madame Sherri's 82 Main Street Keene, NH, 03431 United States (map)

We are very excited to have found a great new home for the Keene Open Mic at Madame Sherri's Lounge & Cabaret just across from Yahso on Railroad Square at 82 Main Street in beautiful downtown Keene, New Hampshire. They have a wonderful space dedicated to performance with a great sound system. We are very grateful to have this opportunity to support both local music in Keene and Madame Sherri's.

Welcome!

Open Mics Most 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month (see exact dates below)
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Madame Sherri's at 82 Main Street, downtown Keene, NH, on Railroad Square
Hosted by Nancy Salwen, Forrest Seymour with house band,
Touch The Ocean.

UPDATED OPEN MIC GUIDELINES — PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY:
• Sign up in advance below to save a slot. If all the slots are taken you may still be able to play as a walk-in if there is space.

• The exact performance time for all performers will be determined the night of the show, not by the slot you sign up for. Please arrive and check in before 6:30pm if possible. If you don’t arrive and check in by 6:45, you run the risk that your spot may be given away!

• In the spirit of supporting your fellow performers, please come for as much of the open mic (6:30 - 8:30) as you can and sit near the stage so you can help cheer everyone on!

• You may sign up for only one 10 minute slot per week per person/group. Your 10 minutes includes set-up, so we encourage you to tune your instrument before you take the stage. let us know when you check in If you have electronic gear or backing tracks. In general, you should have enough time to play two full songs with a little banter in-between.

• We provide microphones and direct inputs for most instruments. Your set-up needs to happen quickly so nothing too complicated please.

• This is an Open Mic for musicians and budding musicians (not for poetry, comedy, etc.).

Special thanks to Adam, Patrick & Paulee and everyone at Madame Sherri's for graciously welcoming the Keene Open Mic into their wonderful world, to Gail and all the staff at Yahso for bringing open mics back to Keene back in 2022, to Marnita's Table for hope and inspiration and to Kevin Parry and the Monday River Garden Open Mic in Brattleboro, VT, for guidance. And if you are feeling flush, please consider a donation to the open mic to help upgrade our equipment and support ongoing expenses.
