Cheap Laughs brings the funniest comics from across New England to the cabaret at Madame Sherri's for the first time ever on Thursday March 20!  Start your weekend early with our 7pm show featuring Paul Gillespie, Brandon Battick, Kirsten Logan, and headliner Amy Tee. Gillespie has been making strangers LOL since founding Cheap Laughs in 2019.  His boomer-take on life comes down to this: "I'm trying to be woke, but I keep hitting the snooze button." Brandon Battick burst onto the Boston comedy scene before he even graduated from high school.  He's back in town after playing clubs and pubs across Austin, TX. The warning "don't judge a book by its cover" fits Battick perfectly. Kirsten Logan has dominated the Providence comedy scene for years. A regular at the Comedy Connection as well as several premier Boston clubs, Logan sees love and life through a lens that only she can properly focus. Headliner Amy Tee uses her razor comedic wit to shed light on living with bipolar disorder while staying sober. Her candor, her brutal honesty, and her boyish charm always combine to leave her audiences in stitches.

Varla Jean Merman is at it again!!! Faster than you can say "Ticketmaster site crash," Varla Jean has swiftly tailored The Errors Tour for her fans, The Mermies. Everyone’s favorite ditzy diva takes you through her catalogue of hilarious hits and egregious errors in a show jam-packed with classic bits, giant wigs, over-taxed costumes, and new songs. This tour-de-farce is certain to be an unforgivable, er…unforgettable evening of "Varla’s Version" of entertainment.

International drag chanteuse Varla Jean Merman is a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown! After the craziest time in memory, the loosest gal in town is at loose ends. What’s a distressed diva to do? Tease her hair, steal someone’s Ativan, and get on with the show, of course! Varla Jean Merman’s all-new show is filled with hilarious songs, dazzling costumes, and more thrills than a panic attack.

UPDATED OPEN MIC GUIDELINES — PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY:
• Sign up in advance below to save a slot. If all the slots are taken you may still be able to play as a walk-in if there is space.

• The exact performance time for all performers will be determined the night of the show, not by the slot you sign up for. Please arrive and check in before 6:30pm if possible. If you don’t arrive and check in by 6:45, you run the risk that your spot may be given away!

• In the spirit of supporting your fellow performers, please come for as much of the open mic (6:30 - 8:30) as you can and sit near the stage so you can help cheer everyone on!

• You may sign up for only one 10 minute slot per week per person/group. Your 10 minutes includes set-up, so we encourage you to tune your instrument before you take the stage. let us know when you check in If you have electronic gear or backing tracks. In general, you should have enough time to play two full songs with a little banter in-between.

• We provide microphones and direct inputs for most instruments. Your set-up needs to happen quickly so nothing too complicated please.

• This is an Open Mic for musicians and budding musicians (not for poetry, comedy, etc.).

BROLESQUE IS BACK!!!

Lockhart Brownlie proudly presents Brolesque, an all-male dance revue that has quickly become a sensation since its launch in November 2022.

Following successful residencies on the West Coast and in NYC, and touring with Rupaul's Drag Race, Brolesque has solidified its reputation as a must-see performance.

Our show offers a distinctive blend of campiness, sensuality, and a proudly queer aesthetic, delivered by a talented cast of dancers. Dive into a realm of desire, entertainment, and fearless self-expression with Brolesque.

We are super excited to have Nova One back in Keene at Madame Sherri's on February 6th! You may have saw them at Keene Pride Festival last year, they are fantastic! You don't want to miss this! With special guests Laina Barakat, Miss Ginger Soulless, and Brad Myrick

NOVA ONE makes lush, dreamy music that celebrates and centers vulnerability, self-love, self-expression, and queer futurity. This Providence-based band performs songs from their newest LP, create myself (Community Records), celebrating self-acceptance, becoming, and inviting each of us to find our own voices and see ourselves with compassion and love.

Laina Barakat, an Independent Film Producer, singer-songwriter, and Monadnock Music’s Executive Director, started GirlandPiano, a band featured in Paste Magazine’s NH Bands to watch. She later co-founded “The Starving Artist” in Keene and worked as a Songwriter in Residence at the Glen Workshops.

Barakat’s compositions have been covered by internationally touring bands and produced by renowned artists like Vinx and Paul Venezia. She’s received Ewing Arts and Trendsetter Awards and served as a former Board Member of Keene Pride. As an adjunct Film Professor at Keene State College, she continues collaborating with artists and plans to release a new EP in 2025.
